Introduction & Original voices for the Yamaha TX81Z

TX81Z

Introduction

Welcome to my site!
In case your wondering what the TX81Z is, it is a multitimbral, 1-unit rackmount synthesizer module and is basically a key-less version of the DX-11 synthesizer by Yamaha. It was a inexpensive synthesizer compared to others at the time (1987). It is a polyphony 8 note 4 operator FM synthesizer. It has 128 preset patches and 32 user programmable patches, 24 performance patches as well. Includes MIDI with velocity and aftertouch, Estimated value is 150$.

I got my TX81Z from my father, he bought the Ensoniq ESQ-1 in the late 80's and it was going to come with a promotional, which was a drum machine. The store was all out of the drum machines of that value, so they gave him the TX81Z which was of the same price range for free. Dad stopped using it some time ago, and I got it, and one year for my birthday I basically asked for it to keep and I got it. I have programmed my own sounds as you can see below I have posted two of them which you can program yourself if you have a TX81Z. I have gotten my patches saved to cassette, so maybe I can rip them to MP3 and get them over to the computer and up on here.
